Carl Restivo

CARL RESTIVO Carl Restivo is the co-founder of the Rock School Scholarship Fund, now known as the Ovation Music Fund.  He moved from NYC to LA in 2005 to open and run the School of Rock Hollywood, and to serve as its Music Director; a role which he held for four years. Restivo has an outstanding music resume as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, writer, and producer.

Carl currently plays guitar and sings with Tom Morello’s The Nightwatchman.  Carl was a guitarist in Rihanna’s live band for a world wide tour. Carl was also the bassist for Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party, and was lead guitarist for Perry Farrell’s solo venture. He has also performed with Slash, Jerry Cantrell, Jason Derulo, Billy Idol, Wayne Kramer, Iggy Pop, Mick Mars, Flea, Stewart Copeland, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, The Doors, Ben Harper, Trent Reznor, and many more.

Carl co-wrote “Go All The Way (Into The Twilight)” with Perry Farrell that was released on the “Twilight” soundtrack. The soundtrack was nominated for a Grammy and has sold 2.5 million copies worldwide.

Carl was one of the architects of the School of Rock’s proprietary music curriculum.  He was also a designer of their studio production program. Carl is currently a partner and the Music Director for the Paramount Academy of Music in West Los Angeles.
